Utrecht University International Students Scholarships


The International Students Scholarships research continues by investigating how median trajectories can be used in various applications. These include trajectory collection visualization, trajectory clustering, classification, and related problems, for which efficient algorithms and implementations should be developed. This will be done in collaboration with researchers in these application areas, whose data will be used.

The International Students Scholarships research will lead to scientific ID in the fields of computational geometry and geographic information knowledge, to be published in conference proceedings and journals. The collective research results will lead to a PhD thesis.

You will have office space at the Department of Information and Computing Sciences and will be supervised by Dr M. van Kreveld.

Requirements

  • Master in computer knowledge, or arithmetic with minor in CS.
  • Interest in GIScience applications and algorithms development.
  • Fluency in English writing.

Situation of employment

You are offered a full-time position for 4 years years. Salary is in the range between € 2,042 and maximum € 2,612 per month.

The International Students Scholarships salary is supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8,3% per year. In addition we offer: a pension scheme, a to a degree paid parental leave, flexible employment situation. Situation are based on the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities. Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant International Students Scholarship


The ACG International Students Scholarship is a federal grant for Pell Grant recipients who are U.S. citizens, and is designed for students and the second, completed a program of rigorous high school. Students receive $ 750 and $ 1,300 the second year.
MSU will try to determine if you qualify for ACG and enter the first forecast. Once approved by the Federal Government and a review of your high school transcript, the estimated price will be replaced by actual prices. There
International Students Scholarship is no separate application and pay the award automatically once you have registered. You can receive the award while enrolled at least full time (12 credits per semester), but the amount paid is less than the amount shown on your award letter. In addition, the recipient of the second year of 3.0 GPa.

PHD International Students Scholarship


Applications are invited for a full-time scholarship available in the School of Built & Natural Environment. The International Students Scholarship is tenable for up to 3 years for a PhD (via MPhil route) [subject to satisfactory progress] and is open to international applicants only. UK/EU applicants are not eligible to apply. The scholarship will provide £15000 towards the cost of the International tuition fee over 3 years. Numerous initiatives and rhetorical statements seek to promote energy saving and carbon reduction by improving the environmental performance of urban areas, in particular residential property. While initially a trans-disciplinary desk exercise that draws on, and provide a systematic overview of, a wide range of international comparisons, the evaluation and testing stages of this research will require a range of different types of engagement. These may include ‘Action Research’ and Ethnographic methodologies to identify ‘public’ and institutional attitudes and behaviour, alongside analysis of the policy making and implementation process within various public bodies, its impact on commercial decisions and the wider business environment, and other approaches to market testing and performance measurement. This International Students Scholarship should include identification and appraisal of various schemes intended to provide a standardised way of classifying buildings, projects or places in terms of their environmental performance or contribution to sustainability, energy or carbon goals.

International Students Scholarship Positions in Arctic Geophysics at University Centre in Svalbard

UNIS provides education and carries out scientific research based in Svalbard within the high Arctic, and benefits greatly from this geographical location. Approximately half of the staff and students are from abroad, and all teaching is in English. UNIS is located in a new building in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, with very good access to modern laboratories and equipment. UNIS is a state owned.

Qualifications

The successful candidatesmust have a Master degree in Physics or equivalent in a field related to the above described projects. Due to logistics, the candidates need to have driver licenses.Admission to the doctoral programme at one of the Norwegian mainland universitiesis a condition of employment in the position as PhD student. The final plan for researcher education shall be approved and a contract signed with the mainland university at the latest six months after commencement. The applications will be prepared by the candidates and the supervisors. Employment Conditions for Ph.D positions :The employment contracts are of 4 years and include mandatory duties of 25% each. The successful candidatesmust live in Longyearbyen. They are expected to contribute actively to ongoing scientific activities in the department. It is also expected that the Ph.D. students take an active part in the advancement of their field of research, and they must also be willing to contribute to the development of UNIS in a more general sense.

All salaries are set in accordance with the Norwegian government’s University salary scale. Ph.D students starts at salary step 48, which currently is a gross salary of NOK 383 900.As a resident in Svalbard an annual allowance of NOK 26 400.(Svalbardtillegg) will be added to the salary. A Social Security contribution of 2 per cent, to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund, will be deducted from the salary. Income tax on Svalbard is 8 per cent, plus 7.8 per cent toward National Insurance coverage. Selection and appointment :An expert Committee appointed by the Managing director of UNIS, will evaluate the qualifications of the applicants. The Committee will review the applications in detail, and is the basis for interviews. The final appointment will be made by the Appointment Committee.
